Custom Clothing Terms & Conditions, Pricing

Thank you so much for your interest in a custom made garment from Zoë Collins Designs.

So, what happens next?

Our Process

Our process is fairly simple. However, there are certain things we'll need from you in order to make the best custom piece possible within the best time frame.

Step 1: Place your order on our website (paid in full up front)
Please enter your email address at checkout, so we can reach you with more information.
Or: Provide a deposit of 30% of the total cost of your item (signed contract is required for this option)
Email us for this option. There is no commitment until the deposit is given. Deposit is non-refundable.

Step 2: You will receive an email from us shortly after you have placed your order, regarding your appointment to have your measurements taken.

Step 3: Schedule your appointment for measurements (two options):

  • Measurements in studio (recommended for Vancouver locals)

If you choose this option, Zoë will invite you to her home studio for a brief appointment, where she will take any necessary measurements for the garment(s) you have purchased.

*Covid safety protocols are in effect. Masks are mandatory. Please do not come to an in-person appointment if you have any symptoms, or are self-isolating due to travel or possible exposure. We will have a HEPA air filter running in the room during your appointment.

  • Measurements over video call

Schedule an appointment with Zoë over Zoom, where she will walk you through the necessary measurements. Having a buddy with you for this is helpful, but not required. For this you'll need a soft measuring tape, or a non-stretchy piece of string and a ruler.

If neither of these options is suitable for you, we can give detailed instructions over the phone or by email.

Step 4: Have your measurements taken (or take your own measurements).

Please wear a fitted base layer that we can measure overtop of (for example, a tank top or camisole, or a pair of leggings). Please also come to your appointment wearing any undergarments you plan to wear with the garment(s) you have ordered. For example, if you ordered a shirt and plan to wear a bra with it, please wear the bra to the measurement appointment so we can get the most accurate fit.

Step 5: Once your piece is complete, we will ship your item to you via the shipping option you selected, and you will receive a notification email with your order's tracking number (if applicable). Before we ship your item, your item must be paid in full.

Timeline

We will send you the measurement appointment request email, normally by the next business day after you have placed your order. If you do not receive this email by this time, please check your spam folder. If not, please reach out to us by email at zcollinsdesigns@gmail.com.

We will do our best to provide flexible availability for measurement appointments, and can usually book the appointment within 1-3 business days.

Please arrive on time and prepared for your appointment, whether it is online or in person. If you will need to reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.

After your measurements have been taken, Zoë will need approximately 2-3 weeks to complete your custom item (4-5 weeks for corsets).

Rush orders: If you need an order by an earlier date, you can request a rush order for an extra fee. We will only agree to rush order deadlines that we are sure we can meet.

Cancellations

If you place an order and then change your mind, you may still be eligible for a refund if we have not yet started work on your order. If you request a cancellation before a scheduled appointment, we will refund you in full. If you request a cancellation after a scheduled appointment, or after missing a scheduled appointment ("no-show"), we will withhold a $40 cancellation fee from your refund. If we have already started making your item(s) however, we will not be able to offer any refund. Any refunds are at our discretion.

Returns

Unfortunately we cannot offer returns on any custom/bespoke items.

We take great pride in our work, and will gladly do any alterations necessary in case of any flaws in our workmanship, at no cost to you (at our discretion).

Please note that if you take your own measurements, your garment will be made to the measurements you provide. We cannot be held responsible for any fit issues resulting from inaccurate or incomplete measurements given to us. If you require alterations due to this reason, we can offer alterations at our standard shop rate of $30/hour CAD.

Garment Care, Repairs & Alterations

We work to design our clothing to be as durable and lasting as possible. Over time, however, some wear and tear is normal, especially with heavy use. In fact, we believe a high quality garment becomes better after it has 'broken in' to our bodies and our lives, becoming more comfortable and personal.

Please read and follow the care instructions for your garment, as it will help it to stay at its best.

If in future your garment requires modification, alteration or repairs (due to general wear-and-tear or damage) we would be happy to assist you at our standard hourly rate.

If you have followed the care instructions for your garment and damage occurs as a result of craftsmanship, we will do any necessary alterations free of charge, at our discretion.

Corset Pricing

Our corsets range in price depending on the style and difficulty of the corset. Basic prices are as follows:

Single Layer Underbust: Starting at $1200 CAD

Single Layer Overbust: Starting at $1500 CAD
